Bern

15th April

We decided to go to Bern for a day. It was on the way to Zurich. To get there we took a blabla car. The person who was driving was very nice. He was on his way to England.

We stored our luggage at the train station and obtained a map from the information centre. The old part of the city was small and walkable.

First we saw the Church of the Holy Spirit. Then we saw the Prison Tower and the Dutch Tower.

After that we went to the Parliament Building where children were playing in the fountain at the front.

From the back there are beautiful views.

We walked across the bridge to the other side of the town where all the museums are. Then we walked along the river to go and see the three bears!

After that we headed up to the rose gardens. Of course there weren't any roses but we were there for the view. There were lots of daffodils though.

After that we headed back to the main part of town and saw the Cathedral and the botanical gardens. Jay climbed up the tower of the church but I didn't

Then we waited for our next blabla car. Unfortunately they were about 2 hours late by the time they picked us up. They only told us at 5:15 that they'd be an hour late when they were meant to be picking us up at 5:30. Jay was mad because they should have told us earlier. We'd got our luggage out of the locker so we wouldn't be late so we were stuck waiting with our luggage.

After a few wrong turns we were dropped off at our accommodation at about 9:30pm.

Our hosts wanted to know if we were hungry. Jay said don't make any effort just some bread and butter would be fine. Pierrick disappeared and made us steak and pasta!
