We caught the bus to Bristol and walked to our accommodation. Our host Sydney was home to greet us. She was absolutely lovely.
After some lunch and a chat we headed to M-Shed Museum. It's a museum focused on the people and history of Bristol.
Then we walked to Queen Square. It was basically a grassy area with a few benches. We had a rest there.
Then we found the Bristol Museum. It was up a very steep hill. But it was worth it as it was very good. The natural history part was great.
After that we saw a few churches/buildings and St Nicholas Market.

The sun was shining so it was the perfect day to visit Cardiff! In the past it's rained when I visited so this was my chance!
We exited the train station and immediately saw this lovely building.
As we started walking down the main street we saw this clock.
After that we wandered around Cardiff Market. There was so much food it was hard to choose. In the end we tried a Welsh cake and bought some Cornish pasties for lunch and some raspberries (3 punnets!)
Next we looked at Cardiff Castle before heading to the park next door (Bute Park & Arboretum). Located along one side of the park was the Animal Wall. We found a sunny spot on a park bench to sit and are our lunch. A lady stopped to talk to us. She spotted our fruit and told us how she loved the markets too. She was on holiday from Australia.

Then we went to the City Hall and had a brief look around.
After that we went to the National Museum. It was excellent. It had a section that started with the big bang and moved through evolution to the present day.
Across the road was the Welsh National War Memorial monument.
Next we went to St John's the Baptist City Parish before going to the Cardiff Story Museum in the Old Library.
Then we had a long walk to get to Cardiff Bay. On the waterfront we saw a Norwegian Church that was now a café and had rooms for hire.

After that we spent a short time at Pierhead. There's a lot of information about the history of the building and the pier.
Then it was a reasonably long walk to the train station.
When we arrived at our accommodation in Cardiff we had dinner with Sydney.

Today we walked up a hill to get to Cabbot Tower. When we arrived there it started to rain. Luckily we reached the tower where we could shelter from the shower. We climbed to the top to look at the city below. From there we saw a church we hadn't visited. So we walked in that direction as we descended.

After a few minutes of walking we found City Hall. There was an interesting exhibition in the corner to promote a museum. It was all about life in the asylum.

Then we went to the Central Library. Next door was the church we'd seen. It turned out to be Bristol Cathedral.
After that we ate lunch by the water before doing some of the Harbourside Walk.
Then we rested at M Shed before heading out to see St Mary's Redcliffe from the inside.
Next door was the Quakers Burial Ground and Redcliffe Caves.
We then packed our bags and caught the train to Bath.
