When we reached Prague, our host Justin, met us at the train station and walked us to his apartment.
On the way he met some lost tourists and showed them the way.
After a chat and some recommendations we headed down to the old town.
After admiring the Powder Tower and Municipal House we reached the Old Town Square. There were so many people! It was unexpected and a little overwhelming.
We wandered around the old town looking at the market (quite a lot of puppets!), beautiful buildings and restaurants.
Hungry we headed back to the area we were staying in because we'd seen some good places to eat there (town was too busy). We ended up eating Chinese (unfortunately a bit too salty) then walking to the local supermarket to buy food for breakfast the next day.
Then we took our sore feet to bed!
29th April
Today we headed back to the Old Town Square once again walking past the Powder Tower and Municipal House.

Once we reached the square we visited the buildings there. First we saw St Nicholas Church and then the Old Town Hall. The hall had a famous clock but it had been taken down for maintenance. The last building to catch our eye at the square was the Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn.

After that we headed out to the Jewish area where we found the Maiselova Synagoga and Pinkasova Synagoga. Unfortunately you had to pay to enter.
Next we headed up to the castle stopping at the Rudolfinum (music Hall), Wallenstein Garden (where we ate our sandwiches for lunch), Waldstein Palace and yet another St Nicholas Church.

Finally we reached the famous Prague Castle. It took us a while to figure out that the long queue was just for security, not tickets. Luckily the queue moved quickly.
The line to enter the castle was pretty ridiculous (and there was a separate place where one has to queue to buy tickets) so we stuck with our plan to check out the palace grounds and gardens.
The views of the city were good from up there. Everything else was crowded and average.
Unimpressed we headed back down the hill and bought some tickets for a river cruise. The boat we chose only takes 14 people.
The boat ride was lovely. From the river we could see many beautiful buildings and a huge metronome!

We then crossed the famous Charles Bridge popping in at St Francis's Church and St Salvator Church.
After that we shared a chimney cake filled with ice-cream!
Then we walked to the supermarket to buy ingredients for dinner. The bread we chose was horrible and the chicken turned out to be turkey. Not the best meal unfortunately.
After dinner we chatted to Justin.
30th April
Today we decided to skip the crowds in Prague and go for a day trip to Kutna Hora. It is only an hour by train.
First we headed to the main attraction -Sedlec Ossuary. On the way there we saw the UNESCO Cathedral. It was quite plain really.
Then we purchased our tickets for the Ossuary at the Information Centre. When we got to the church we had to queue for about ten minutes to get in even though we already had a ticket.
The whole place was decorated with human bones. The biggest feature was the chandelier.

After that we walked around and we saw the following buildings:
Monastery of St Ursula
St James's Church
Italian Court
Church of St John
Stone Fountain
Dacicky House
Czech Museum of Silver
Jesuit College
Corpus Christi Church
St Barbara's Catherdal
Church of our lady "Na Nameti"
A highlight of the day was Jay managed to get a hair cut! He'd tried for a couple of days with no luck.
When we arrived back at Prague we went to a different Chinese place. It was good (not too salty). Then it was back to the accommodation.
